Canyons Ski Area

The Canyons offers some of the best skiing conditions imaginable. Its 3,700 acres of varied terrain, 163 trails, 17 lifts and 2 revolutionary terrain parks is just the beginning. The Canyons is home to Hyatt Escala Lodge, The Vintage on the Strand, Waldorf Astoria Park City, Golden Door Spa, Fairway Springs, Hidden Creek, Park West, Juniper Landing, West Park Village, Red Pine, Silverado Lodge, The Sundial Lodge, Sunrise at Escala, Timberwolf Lodges and Village Round. And as if that is not enough, in Summer 2011, The Canyons will break ground on a new 18 hole golf course.

The Canyons offers the best in outdoor sports and other amazing events including the annual Spring Grüv, 10 days of events, concerts and contests at the Canyons Resort. Add to that the fact that professional skier Grete Eliassen set the hip jump world record at The Canyons, and you get an idea of just how extraordinary this area is. The Canyons is a fantastic summer destination as well with lift access to the hiking/biking trail system, July 4th Celebration, and weekly free concerts.

The award winning Canyons Resort is the ultimate destination for discriminating buyers, and the area boasts some of the finest ski in/ski out properties in the region.

With its natural beauty, dedication to privacy, world-class skiing, and awesome snowboarding The Colony at White Pine Canyon sets a new standard for luxury living. Situated among the lush groves of aspen trees, rolling meadows, and sparkling streams that are so much a part of the area, The Colony is more than just a wintertime resort area.

When the snow retreats, the landscape is transformed into an amazing network of hiking, biking and horseback riding trails, connecting to over 400 miles of single-track trails. And it is all capped off by the acclaimed 26-mile "Mid-Mountain Trail," which runs through The Colony. This trail, designated an "Epic Trail" by the International Mountain Biking Association, is just another first offered by The Colony at White Pine Canyon.

For those who want a taste of the Olympic lifestyle, the Olympic Park area offers a variety of living spaces. From condominiums to single-family homes, the emphasis is on luxury and access to the best the area has to offer. To really experience the Olympic lifestyle, residents can head to the site of the 2002 Olympics and try their hand at the bobsled ride. But be warned, this is no kiddie ride. We’re talking about a bone-jarring, slam you back in your seat, 70 mile-per-hour rocket on ice. Then it’s on to the zip line rides, Quicksilver alpine slide rides, and finally an interactive Olympic museum to help bring your pulse back down to normal.

Then again, if you want just one more adrenaline rush, make your way over to the freestyle aerials training pool and see what it’s like to dive like an Olympian. The pool contains 750,000 gallons of water which is “bubbled” to soften the impact of landing. The highest of the four primary kickers hovers nearly 70 feet in the air and was the “launching pad” for many world class divers including Olympians Shannon Bahrke, Emily Cook, Jeret Peterson and Ryan St. Onge.
