Summers in Park City, Utah are full of events that everyone will love. I was at The Silly Market on Sunday when it hit me just how much there is to do in Park City every summer. Free concerts 4 days a week, the weekly Park Silly Sunday Market, a weekly Farmer’s Market at Canyons the annual Kimball Arts Fest, Savor the Summit, and the Food and Wine Classic…. Not to mention all the hiking, mountain biking, and trail running. There is so much to do this summer, I thought it’d be helpful to outline some of the biggest events of the summer. There are activities for the whole family (no matter how old the kids are), times to meet up with friends, and date nights on Main Street. In the past month, 20 homes in Old Town have sold, and another 8 have gone under contract. I point this out because the ski resorts have been closed for a month, and the days of Park City being a ghost town in the off season are over. People are coming to town in the off season to buy, and with summer right around the corner, we are poised to get even busier soon. But, Park City has one of the most extensive trail networks in the world and there are lots of options. Snyderville Basin Recreation, Park City Municipal, and Mountain Trails Foundation all work together to plan, build, and maintain over 350 miles of trails. Park City Home Sale

Last week, my clients put their Park City home on the market and had it under contract in under 24 hours.

Their 4-bedroom, single-level home on a flat lot in Park Meadows had showings before it officially hit the market. It was virtually brand new inside and out after being mostly rebuilt a few years ago. Perfect for a family or couple with frequent guests, it wasn’t going to last long.

The style of this home and it’s condition had a lot to do with the quick sale, but these sellers also did all of the right things to close the deal so fast.

Park city real estate trends
Our real estate market is exciting right now. Median home prices are up, more people are going under contract, and cash sales are high. All the market indicators are extremely healthy and stats from 2013 show continuing upward trends since the low point of the Great Recession in 2009.

Rick Klein, a local expert on market statistics has been tracking these positive signals since 2007. If 2014 is anything like last year, we’ll continue to see these trends improve throughout the year.
