I had been in the market for a second home for almost two years, the last six of which were focused on Park city. I had been through three realtors before I met Scott. Each one tried to sell me their version of the economy, the limitless appreciation of Park City real estate, and homes that I had no interest in buying or were well outside my price range. Scott provided a great overview of the market, information on the homes, historical values, and recent comps. When we had narrowed the options down to a couple of homes, Scott took an aggressive stance with the seller and over the course of six months got us to within 5% of our original offer. His follow-through prior to, during and after the close was impeccable. In March of 2010, Scott helped us again in finding our second Park City Home, which we will close on in April 2010. My family moved in to our new Park City home in June2009. Scott Maizlish was our buyer’s agent from beginning to end. Although we had vacationed in PC many times, we knew nothing about the neighborhoods. With two teenage sons, it was critical to choose the right area. This was a big task in itself and Scott patiently took us through the process. By Park City standards, for what we wanted our budget was not so big. I was lucky enough to stumble across Scott Maizlish’s web site when we decided to buy a house in Deer Valley. His focus on value caught my eye and I decided to email him. From the first email Scott was friendly and willing to go at our pace not once during the five months and offers on four properties did I feel pressured to do something I was not comfortable with. Scott was always quick with information on the historic prices for houses and any other information that we requested. Since we were from out of town it represented some obstacles, but whenever a new property popped up Scott would ask if we might be interested and on numerous occasions took pictures of the property and sent to us to help make our decision. Scott took us on I believe between my wife and I 44 separate visits and never seemed to be frustrated or pushy. We have been visiting Park City for 20 years and we finally decided to live there for 6 months and put our kids in school. I was introduced to Scott Maizlish in October of 2009 after accepting a job as VP of Sales with AdvancedMD in Draper, Utah. I have been a life-long resident of Massachusetts and we have 4 kids, so after the initial excitement of accepting the job set in our next step was to find out where we wanted to live in Utah and find our dream home. My wife Amy and I had no relatives in Utah and very little knowledge of the area. We first spoke to Scott over the phone and he quickly and efficiently assessed our needs and what kind of community and home we were looking for. Without the right direction narrowing down an area could have been an exhausting task but by asking us the right questions and learning about our lifestyle Scott strongly recommended Park City. We looked a little bit in the valley but quickly saw why Scott recommended Park City based on our life style, family situation and love for the outdoors. Everyone we met in Park City referred to it as another day in paradise, and you commonly heard this is the best place I have ever lived.
 
Scott took us to see many houses, but again after narrowing our criteria he was able to really maximize our valuable time by only showing us homes that met our specific criteria. I have spent time with realtors in the past who try to find you your home by trial and error and they do not really get a true understanding of what you are looking for. Scott acted as a true consultant and he clearly understood what was important to both Amy and me. Scott’s knowledge of Park City and the surrounding areas really helped in our decision process and we felt well informed throughout the process.
 
In the end we found our dream home and the whole experience was a pleasure. I felt like we did not have any wasted hours in the process because each house we looked at helped us narrow our search criteria and led us to the home we purchased. We both feel like we got a great value in relation to price and we love our new home.
 
As a VP of Sales for a high tech software company I know how important customer service and a consultative approach to a purchasing decision is to a buyer. Scott held our hand during this sometimes stressful process and not only made it easy we also had fun along the way. After tracking Park City real estate pricing for over 2 years, we were puzzled why directional pricing was not consistent with the much of the country, including other resort areas. I contacted Scott and he quickly educated us on the housing market in Park City. He stated that many cash sales have resulted in fewer foreclosures and fewer price reductions. When Scott Lists Property, the Property Sells!!! Scott has successfully sold three properties for me. His customer service is second to none. Never a showing without feedback to me, excellent marketing skills, and he knows how to get the property known quickly in the community. Also, He is extremely accurate on where to price your investment to help facilitate a quick sale. The only time I did not initially use Scott to list a property, he had given me a sales number that was just too low for me to consider. So I hired the best-known agent in Park City to list my house. They suggested a price that I had hoped to get out of the house. The first offer came in around where Scott had told me to price my home in the first place. Under advisement from our current realtor (Not Scott Maizlish), we rejected the deal, and the market only continued to soften. Also, the service that was promised was never delivered. Scott has always been one who will under promise and over deliver. Finally, we turned the listing over to Scott, and once again, he was not giving us delusions of grandeur, or smoke and mirrors. He told us if we wanted to sell, we need to be at a certain price, and his suggestion generated multiple offers, and a quick cash close!!!! If I had only listened to Scott in the first place, I would have made a little money on my spec house instead of losing a lot of money. Not using Scott in the first place was a 6 figure mistake.
